5 REASONS FOR BBQ CATERING FOR EVENTS

Summer is the perfect time to get together with friends and family. Even in Britain, if you are careful to choose those days when the sun is shining and there is not a raincloud in sight, you can have a great outdoor event. Whether it’s a wedding, birthday party, anniversary, engagement, or a party just for the hell of it, surely that’s what summer is for?

However, one of the problems many people have when organising summer events is the food and catering. It can be hard to gauge what your guests are going to like, especially if a lot of them have different tastes, preferences, or even dietary requirements.

If you find yourself stuck trying to decide on the type of catering you should have for your next summer event, why not consider BBQ catering? In the following post, we are going to highlight 5 great reasons why you should.

THE SMELL IS INTOXICATING

We’ve all been there, haven’t we? Walking or driving along the road when we catch a whiff of the scent of charcoal burning and meats (and possibly other treats) cooking alfresco. Have you ever found yourself in that situation and not thought “we need to have a barbeque”? Has anyone?

If you want to get your guests excited at your event and smacking their lips hungrily before they even get near to a plate, then having BBQ catering is the way to go.

NO SHORTAGE OF FOOD

Is there anything worse than hearing guests quietly complaining that they enjoyed themselves, but they wished there had been more food? We have all been to an event like that, haven’t we? The danger with a sit-down and formal dinner-style of catering is that the portions won’t be quite enough for the hungrier guests you’ve invited.

As long as you have invested in a good selection and quantity of food, with BBQ catering there is no chance of there being a food shortage at a BBQ. Especially as the type of food consumed at BBQs will really fill your guests up eventually. Burgers, sausages, buns, jacket potatoes, chicken wings, pulled pork.

CHILLED OUT AND RELAXED

When organising and running events, it can often be very stressful, particularly when it comes to serving up the food for your guests. In a formal sit-down dinner type event, you need to make sure that everyone is eating at the same time and there has to be a lot of coordination. With BBQ catering, especially if you hire professionals catering to take care of the cooking and serving for you, that is simply not a problem.

It is way more chilled out and informal. Besides, the food your guests will be eating is perfect for mingling, as it is all, more or less, finger food. Why overcomplicate that next summer party or event, when you can make things easy going and relaxed with a barbeque?

CROWD-PLEASING FOOD

Although you may have games, music or some kind of entertainment planned for your summer event, there is another way you can give your guests something to remember the experience by – the food. With BBQ catering, the food becomes an event itself. Lots of guests will find themselves drawn to the grills to simply watch the food being cooked, watching the spit (if you have one) turning slowly, with all that glistening meat rotating and slowly cooking, watching, and listening to the burgers and sausages turning from their pale and red colours into black and browns as they cook up.

Barbeques are synonymous with a good and memorable time.

EASY TO ADAPT

We mentioned at the outset of this post that one of the problems is accommodating your guest’s different preferences, tastes, and dietary requirements. With a barbeque, although most things revolve around the meat, you can still adapt and customise it to match the needs of your guests.

For instance, if you have vegans or vegetarians or even pescatarians you can switch up the menu easily and just include alternatives to the bangers, pulled pork and sweet chicken wings. By having as diverse a range of food as possible, you can ensure that every guest will be satisfied.
